San Pedro de Alcántara
Once an ancient farming community famous for sugar cane production, this town now is a booming center of the local community with its authentic and friendly atmosphere.
Every Thursday morning there is a street market at the back of the town. Here you can find all kinds of goods, from fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables to handmade clothes and accessories. Definitely worth a visit!
From the center of San Pedro you can take a nice walk towards the beach using Avenida del Marques del Duero – a particularly attractive wide avenue flanked by tall palm trees.
The beach in San Pedro has several excellent chiringuitos specialized in fresh seafood. Take some time to visit Bora Bora on the west side of the beach. It was one of the first (established in 1994) tropical-themed luxury beach clubs on the coast featuring a great restaurant and an excellent bar. It is only a 30-minute walk to Puerto Banús from there.
